Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin (face, neck, or hands) to exfoliate and remove damaged outer layers. This controlled resurfacing stimulates regeneration, allowing new skin to grow back smoother, clearer, and healthier.
Procedure
1. Dermatologist consultation to assess skin type, concerns, and medical history 2. Cleansing and possible pre-treatment with creams (e.g., retinoids, bleaching agents) 3. Application of the peel solution for a controlled duration, sometimes in layers 4. Neutralisation or removal of the solution, followed by cooling/soothing mask 5. Essential aftercare: moisturising, sun protection, avoiding irritants
Aftercare
- Keep skin moisturised and protected from the sun - Avoid direct sun exposure and harsh products - Expect peeling/flaking for several days (varies with peel depth) - Follow dermatologist’s aftercare instructions strictly
Duration
30–45 minutes depending on peel strength
Sessions Required
Noticeable results may appear after 1 session, but multiple sessions (every few weeks) are usually recommended for optimal results. Maintenance peels help sustain benefits.
